The site-specific solo performance by choreographer Emmi Venna engages with the rooms of the Kirpilä Art Collection through dance, speech and hallucinatory animation. It is a chapter, an excerpt, or a selection, if you will, from an ongoing body of work by Venna in which the artist assorts various situations, gestures, notebook entries and visuals into an associative mindscape.
The title of the work is a quote from film director Lana Wachowski.

Emmi Venna works as a choreographer, performer, writer and as a part of curatorial teams. Venna’s processes combine curiosity towards the experience of a lived body, researching dance and art histories, playing with fictional dimensions, and searching for the magical potential of the performance situation. Most recent works include the performance Kitchen Sink (Sinne, 2022), commissioned choreography CORE for the TaDaC collective (TeaK/Zodiak 2021) and the solo work Fabulous Muscles (Mad House Helsinki/Ehkä production, 2020).
